In a move likely to cause so much headache for the global giant Samsung, vice chair Jay Y Lee and three others are to face prosecution for bribery, embezzlement and perjury according to Korean prosecutors.
Mr Jay Lee and three others are caught in the quagmire of corruption investigation involving the impeached Korean president Park Geune-hye.
The investigations concerns allegations that Samsung paid a staggering sum of 31 million pounds to a friend of the president to influence government support for the vice chair's ascension to lead the conglomerate and proposed merger of two subsidiaries.
Mr Lee has been effectively running the company since the sudden heart attack of his father Lee Kun-hee the company's chairman in 2014.
I hope Africans are watching to see how even the Asians tackle corruption in their country. No sacred cows!
